Grace – trying new things
Gracie is 3 1/2 months or so and she is the sweetest little thing ever. Except for this growth spurt that is waking her up a billion times in the night. Sheesh. Lately she’s been trying out all sorts of new things – like batting at the toys on her bouncer and getting her first professional pictures taken. Here she is –
The funniest potty training picture EVER!
I wish I could say I took this picture, but Aaron did. He’s not really potty training, but we decided to get him the potty for when he gets interested…probably in another 2 years. Yikes. We are going to be buying 2 sets of diapers forever. Talk about a hit to the pocketbook. But seriously, isn’t this picture hilarious?
I was bold…
I’ve always wanted to be part of a playgroup. I tried to work it out once when I was in Spanish Fork, but it sorta fizzled after a few weeks. But I was bold and I decided to try again here in Logan. I talked to the two mothers and I even offered to host it at my house and they could just drop their kids off for a few hours and then I was bold again and asked if one of them could host it the next week. A few months later and we are still going strong and this is the result –
Our Weiser trip
When Aaron was in Europe I took the kids and went with my little sis and her babe to Weiser. Even though all the kids were sick at one time or another during the week we were there we had a blast! Parker got into my lipstick for the first time and my awesome sister taught me how to get it out by using green palmolive soap. (it cuts grease -really!) I started making a little blanket for Lanette and Parker, and got to have a great time with my family. Aaron had a great time in Europe too.
The marathon
This last weekend was a big one! We celebrated Parker’s 2nd birthday. He had a race car cake…
Lanette had a princess party with a castle cake!
Grace is so happy and smiley and she looked so adorable in her blessing dress!
Thumb tacs…
Have you ever wondered if a 2 year old running full speed at you with a thumb tac aimed at your rear would draw blood? Wonder no more because – yes. yes. it will.
time is flying!
I’m not sure if it is just because I have more kids or what, but this year seems to be flying by! Gracie is smiling and “talking” like crazy. She is by far the most adored thing in our house. The kids are more excited about her smiling at them then they are about anything else. Oh, and the most glorious thing of all – she’s started sleeping through the night. SO awesome. She finally hit the 8 pound mark so now she is about the size of most newborns!
We had a great Valentine’s day. As part of our celebration we went to Cafe Sabor. As we were waiting for our food we had chips and salsa, but this is a more authentic Mexican joint so the salsa is a little spicy for the gringo in me and Lanette. So she asked our waiter (on her own) if they had any “kid salsa”. We were cracking up…the best part is that they actually had a mild version that we (me, Parker and Lanette) downed in a few seconds. If you ever come to Logan go to Cafe Sabor and try out their fried ice cream…best dessert EVER.
Look what Gracie can do!
I LOVE, love, love it when babies start to smile at you!
good things
Some things I’ve been lovin’ lately-
How cute Grace looks in her Christmas dress…or you could call it a valentine’s day dress!
How much fun Lanette had with her cousin Mary when Granny came to visit.
We created a Bingo Chart to help Lanette work on some behavior things and since then she has been doing such a great job with things like sharing with Parker and being obedient the first time. They’ve been having a lot more fun together since then.
Plus, we’ve been jammin’ to Jack Johnson’s CD “Sleep through the static”…soo cool.
Oh, and LOST is back on- Whoo HOO!
AND – Aaron found an internship for this summer (such a huge blessing!) and we’ll be moving to Iowa for the summer – we’ll only be about an hour from Nauvoo!
Now if I could just get some sleep life would be GOOD!! 🙂
